Day 1, Monday July 10:  MEXICO CITY

Arrival at Airport Benito Juarez México City, 11:30 am, Meet and greet transfer to Hotel.

 City Tour highlights include Zócalo (Historical Center), entrance to National Palace with explanation of the amazing Diego Rivera´s, the ruins of Azteca´s capital Empire Tenochtitlan, Metropolitan Cathedral and all the historic buildings that surrounded the center of the city.

13:30:  Luncheon at Mexico Viejo´s restaurant in the historical center. Continue  through the elegant  Reforma Avenue , Appreciating the most important buildings, monuments, statues in the area like The Mayor Tower, Latin-American Tower building, the Independence Monument, appreciating the main buildings and residences in Chapultepec , Lomas area.  Afterwards visit the Anthropology Museum of Mexico considered one of the five most important in the world, visit the Mexican Hall.  Return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest

Day 2, Tuesday July 11:    MEXICO CITY

TOUR THE BASÍLIC OF OUR LADY AND PYRAMYDS OF TEOTIHUACAN.

After breakfast depart hotel 8:30 for Tour of the Three Culture Square architectural ensembles from three different historical periods: Tenochtitlan Culture, Spanish culture and the Culture of modern Mexico.

10:30 Continue to visit the Basilica of Guadalupe the patron of Mexico, and the Queen of the America. Continue to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan. 14: 00 Lunch at “El Jaguar” Restaurant in the Teotihuacán Area, side show by the Indian display and Mariachi serenade.  Return to Hotel @ 3p Rest of afternoon to shop.  

Day 3, Wednesday July 12:  MEXICO CITY-XALAPA

08:00:  After breakfast depart for Xalapa City around 4.45 hours road trip.

12:30 Arrive Xalapa City visit the museum of Anthropology, see 7 of the Olmec Heads lead by a Curator on the African perspective. then proceed to Luncheon at a local Restaurant.  Afterwards Panoramic Tour of the capital for the main places of interest such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Bishop Guizar Valencia, University area, Diamond Alley and Paseo de los Lagos. Overnight

Day 4, Thursday July 13:   XALAPA -VERACRUZ 

After breakfast continue to Vera Cruz stopover in Actopau –El coyolillo Veracruz, visit the Black Community and Water Fall.  Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to Veracruz, check-in Galleria Hotel built atop a shopping Mall.  

Day 5, Friday, July 14:  VERACRUZ-YANGA-VERACRUZ

You'll After Breakfast we will drive to Yanga (ca 1.5 hours) which is considered as the first community of enslaved Africans in Mexico.  We shall have a village elder narrate the History; Other African communities are  nearby.  .  Return to Veracruz Castle, a major Slave Hub where slaves were fanned out to the Caribbean and South America. The guide will give us a talk on the history of this port.  .Continue to the city lunch and a panoramic atop a double decker bus.  Afterwards you are free to stroll the Boardwalk, water spots, weight lifting, catamaran cruise etc.

Day 6, Saturday July 15:  SAN ANDRES TUXTLA - VILLAHERMOSA

Early morning  drive to San Andres Tuxtla to visit the Olmec head found in this area. In the later afternoon continue to Villahermosa (ca. 3 hrs.) Luncheon in a local restaurant in Villahermosa.   16:45 Hotel check-in.  Optional Sound & light show La Vente Museum   FREE evening in Villa Hermosa 

Day 7, Sunday July 16:

After breakfast visit the La Vente Museum and the Park of Villahermosa for OLMEC Heads.  After lunch afternoon free, optional visit to the Chocolate Factory.  An evening Question & Answer session moderated by a local historian about the OLMEC Heads. And your journey so far.  A Quiz & prize drawing for attendees.

Day 8, Monday, July 17:  VILLA HERMOSA-PALENQUE

After an early breakfast depart to Palenque.  Visit the Archeological Site of Palenque, considered by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage of Humankind, one of the best preserved Mayan cities and what it has much history recorded, your guide will tell you the story of Pakal, the red Reyna and about the town. Walking through the courtyards and Palaces, is a unique experience.14:00 Luncheon at “La Selva” Restaurant at the center of Palenque or similar.  After lunch return to Villahermosa, overnight.  

Day 9, Tuesday July 18   VILLAHERMOSA AIRPORT-DEPART

11:30a departure via Mexico City arriving JFK at 4:30p
