Trip Itinerary

Tour Duration: June 08 -June 23, 2019



Day 1 - MIAMI/CASABLANCA - 9:50 PM - Leave. Miami aboard Air MAROC via Casablanca dinner en-route.

Day 2 - CASABLANCA/DAKAR - 11:00 AM - Arrive Casablanca, connecting at 1:30 PM for Dakar, arriving at 3:55 PM transfer to Ibis Hotel or similar.

Day 3 - DAKAR - After breakfast about 10 AM departure from your hotel to explore the vibrant city of Dakar. We pass the Independence Square, we discover the old colonial buildings and the new African inspired architecture. We pass Kermel market with its colourful flowers, the Chamber of Commerce, the Presidential Palace, and the “Corniche” with the “Anse Bernard” beach. Photo opportunity at the African Renaissance Monument. Then, we continue to “Soweto Square to see the National Assembly, the IFAN museum known for its collection of West African Arts, drive to the Cathedral, the National theatre. Next, we visit the sand painting gallery. Passing through SANDAGA market, we continue to the Great Mosque, we continue to the well-known craftsmen village of Soumedioune, where high quality goods in many mediums may be admired or purchased. Lunch at a local restaurant on your own. Overnight. (Breakfast)

Day 4 - GOREE - After breakfast, full day Goree Island which was an important slave depot and the point of departure of millions of slaves to America. A twenty-minute ferry ride takes us to the once turbulent, now tranquil Goree Island. Its carefree streets and clusters of pink houses make it a perfect foil for the camera. After lunch in a typical restaurant, we explore the island. A visit to the slave house, once a departure point for millions of slaves headed for the Americas, is for many an emotional experience. A stroll up to the Castle affords us a spectacular view of Goree and beyond. We visit the Town Square and the Catholic Church before stopping at the Historical museum. Return to Dakar... Overnight (Breakfast/Lunch)

Day 5 - PINK LAKE CAYAR - After breakfast, you leave for the mysterious Pink Lake. An incredible rose-colored body of water surrounded by sands and dunes. Lunch. Visit a Fulani village, meet the inhabitant and enjoy your naming ceremony and head for Cayar, a fishing village along the Atlantic coastline. Observe the fishermen bring in their afternoon haul in their painted pirogues. Donkey drawn buggies are the form of transportation in this quaint fishing village. Overnight Bougerville Hotel Saly

Day 6 - Saly - Relax at the Beach in Saly and other water sports etc Farewell dinner and Naming Ceremony (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 7 - MBOUR/KAOLACK - After breakfast leave for Kaolack , city tour and shopping. Overnight (Breakfast/Lunch)

Day 8 - KAOLACK/BANJUL - After breakfast cross by Ferry to Banjul, stopover in Barra and visit Fort Bullen one of the historical places in The Gambia, which is from the time of slavery. Afterwards drive to your hotel in Banjul (Breakfast)

Day 9 - MAKASUTO CULTURAL FOREST - After breakfast transfer to Makasuto, see the holy man of the forest, canoe on river, see the extraordinary birdlife and the troops of baboons. Watch the palm wine tappers scale the trees and then taste the wine in a forest clearing. Meet the Marabout – the holy man of the forest – and then try a traditional delicious Gambian lunch prepared using the freshest of local produce. Exercise off lunch with some vigorous dancing – Jola style. Return to Banjul (Breakfasr/Lunch)

Day 10 - BANJUL CITY TOUR - After breakfast City tour Serrekunda Market Crocodile Pool, Abuko, Lamin Lodge, Paradise Beach visit a Batik factory, Village School. BBQ lunch. After lunch return to hotel (Breakfast/Lunch)

Day 11 - BANJUL CRUISE RIVER GAMBIA - Full day cruise on the River Gambia with stops at Albreda, Jufureh, Fort James Island, Kunte Kinteh Late evening return to Banjul (Breakfast/Lunch)

Day 12 - BANJUL/ZIGUICHOR - Day trip to Ziguichor, capital of the Casamance Region. The day will be devoted to visits of contacts with the customs and customs ancestral of authentic Casamance. You will meet leaders of the Mandingo ethnic group, the King of Oussouye and in the villages, masters of initiation. Lunch on the way. Afternoon, discover the typical architecture Diola with dinner and overnight Hotel Le Flamboyant or similar (Breakfast/Lunch)

Day 13 - ZIGUICHOR - Continue with tour of Ziguichor, overnight (Breakfasr/Lunch)

Day 15 - BANJUL - After breakfast return to Banjul at leisure to explore on your own.

Day 16 - LISBORN/MIAMI - 2:50 AM leave for Casablanca arriving at 6:50 AM, connecting at 04:20 AM, arriving Miami at 8:05 PM. Optional City tour of Casablanca plus shopping.
