Day 1, Mon June 01 - MIA /NEW YORK / ACCRA - Leave aboard Delta at 5:50 PM to Accra dinner and entertainment enroute
Day 2, Tues. June 02 - ACCRA - 08:20 AM Arrive Accra, meet and greet transfer to African Regent Hotel or similar. Tailors will be on-site to take your measurements. Orientation dinner, plus speaker on the History of Ghana (D)
Day 3, Wed. Jun 03 - ACCRA - After breakfast, City tour visit the National Museum, National Culture Center, Independence Square, OSU Castle, the Du Bois Center, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the National Theatre, Music Academy. Lunch at a local restaurant (B/L)
Day 4, Thur. June 04 - ACCRA - After breakfast Rest of day at leisure to explore on your own
Day 5, Fri. June 05 - ACCRA-KUMASI - Early breakfast, drive to Kumasi, check-in Golden Tulip Hotel. Visit the Ghana National Cultural Center – exhibits include workshops on Ashanti Culture, continue to the Manhyia Palace of the Ashanti King, the War Museum which depicts the Ashanti wars with the British in the 1800’s, round out your visit to a goldmine. Kumasi is the center for gold mining in Ghana. Overnight. (B/L)
Day 6, Sat. June 06 - KUMASI - After breakfast full day tour, observe craftsmen at work in artisan villages of Ntonso, Awaii and Adanwomase village featuring fertility dolls, sandals, Kenta and Adinkra cloth and Stools (B/L)
Day 7, Sun. June 07 - KUMASI - After breakfast visit Kokofrom Brass Community, and the huge, open-air Kejetia Market, stalls sell everything from glass beads to Ashanti sandals. (B/L)
Day 8, Mon. June 08 - KUMASI-ELMINA - After breakfast leave for Elmina, stopover at Assin Manso, the new burial ground of the Wall Street slaves. Pay homage, continue to Elmina for lunch, Check-in Coconut Grove (B/L)
Day 09, Tue. June 09 - ELMINA/CAPE COAST - This will be your most memorable day, visit the 14th century castles built by the Dutch and occupied at various times by the French, British, German and Portuguese. The curator gives a moving narration of the slave trade and a period movie. Continue to another castle built by the Swedes in 1553. It now houses the West African Museum of History.
Day 10 , Wed. June 10 - ELMINA - After breakfast visit Kakum Forest Preserve, an eco-tourism park created in 1989. Walk through the trails teaming with bird life, butterflies. Farewell dinner, Naming Ceremony, Cultural evening (B/D)
Day 11, Thur. Jun 11 - ELMINA/ACCRA - After breakfast, leave for Accra , last minute shopping. 8 PM transfer to airport.
Day 12, June 12 - NEW YORK - 7 AM Arrival in New York, connecting flight to Miami
