2:50P Arrive Accra Airport. Meet & assist and transfer ALISA HOTEL or AFRICAN REGENT Relax from your trans-Atlantic trip. Dinner on your own

DAY 3: Sun, Feb 9 ACCRA
Breakfast 8am
After Breakfast Relaxing Boat Ride on Lake Volta. Welcome Dinner (B/D)

DAY 4: Mon, Feb 10 ACCRA
Breakfast: 8am After Breakfast Depart on a city tour of Accra visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Park, National Museum and W.E.B. DuBois Centre for Pan Africanism. Drive past the Independence Arch and Black Star Square-Accra’s ceremonial grounds, view in the distance Christiansborg Castle, office of the President of Ghana. Your last stop will be the Arts and Crafts market. (B)

Day 5: Tues, Feb 11 ACCRA-KUMASI
Breakfast: 8 am After breakfast, a leisurely drive to Kumasi, the center for Gold Mining in Ghana. Stop at Ashanthewa Statue for a photo-op. Then proceed to Ghana National Cultural Center – exhibits include workshops on Ashanti Culture, continue to the Manhyia Palace of the Ashanti king, the War Museum which depicts the Ashanti wars with the British in the 1800’s, then of to Lunch at Ike’s Café by the Catfish Lake. Check -in Fredrick’s Lodge. Evening Kumasi orientation (B/L)

Day 6: Weds, Feb 12 KUMASI
Breakfast: 9 am After breakfast start off the visit to a school in Kumasi meet the students, then to a Kente cloth factory. Observe craftsmen at work in artisan villages of Ntonso, Awaii and Adanwomase village featuring fertility dolls, sandals, Kenta and Adinkra cloth and Stools. After lunch visit Kokofrom Brass Community, and the huge, Kejetia Market, stalls sell everything from glass beads to Ashanti sandals. Return to your hotel (B)

DAY 7: Tues, Feb 13 KUMASI-ELMINA
Breakfast: 7am Depart for Elmina. Upon arrival stopover at Ani Monso, the last bathing place for Enslaved. It is also the current resting place for slaves who were discovered from Wall Street area in the mid nineties. Also visit Kakum National Park for an hour’s walking tour through the Rainforest. Experience the exciting Canopy Walk which offers a panoramic view of the rainforest. After lunch at “Mable’s Table” drive to Coconut Grove Resort. (B/L)

DAY 8: Thurs, Feb 14 ELMINA CASTLES & FORTS
This will be one of your most memorable days. High lights include. Visits to the famous Elmina and Cape Coast Castles and Fort St. Jago. Visit the Cape Coast Castle and the West African Historical Museum. The guide will conduct you to the enslaved quarters and Negotiation Hall. Continue to Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 for a comprehensive guided tour. See the Enslaved dungeons and the condemned cell for slaves who attempted to escape. Lunch will the at a seaside restaurant. (B/L)

DAY 9: Fri, Feb 15 ELMINA-ACCRA-LOME
After breakfast depart to Lomé the capital of Togo. A drive along miles of white sandy beaches and swaying coconut Palm trees underscores the beauty of the coastal route parallel to the Atlantic Ocean. Upon arrival at the Aflao border, go through Customs and immigration formalities. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight: Hotel Sarakawa (B)

DAY 10: Sat, Feb 16 Lomé
Half day tour of Lomé, Highlights include Musee National, Monument de Independence, Galerie Coin du Terrior, Cathedral. Experience the ancient and modern culture of Lomé. Lunch on African cuisine. Return to hotel. Overnight: Lomé (B)

DAY 11 Sun, Feb 17 COTONOU VIA OUIDAH
After breakfast drive to Abomey -Calavi. Enroute’ stop at Allade to visit the memorial of the “Black Napoleon,” Toussaint Louverture. Continue to Ouidah, irrefutably the voodoo capital of Benin Voodoo is an Ancestral and Nature tradition Visit the Pythons and do the enslaved walk from point of sale to the Atlantic shores to board the Slave ships. Return to your hotel Lac Benin in a reflective mood. (B/L)

Day 12, Mon, Feb18 GANVIE/COTONOU
Ganvie is the biggest stilt village in Africa. In the 1700s fugitives fleeing Fon slave raiders, settled here. Cruise from your hotel accompanied by Faustin through the waterways by motorboat observing the locals in their everyday lives. Afterwards drive to Cotonou, afternoon city with highlights, Museum, and craft market tour Return to hotel. (B)

Day 13: Tues, Feb 19 COTONOU-BADAGRY-LAGOS
Early morning drive to Badagry via Porto-Novo, the official capital of the West African nation of Benin and was the capital of French Dahomey. It was a tributary of the old Yoruba kingdom of Oyo. On arrival at Seme boarder, go through immigration and customs. Drive to Badagry a coastal town which lies between the city of Lagos and the border of the Republic of Benin. Badagry is a historic town a major slave port and market on the West African coast, exporting at least 600,000 African enslaved to America. Tour highlights include Badagry Heritage Museum, Point of no Return, Serkin Abbas Barracoon etc. Afterwards continue to Lagos for overnight. (B/L)

Day 14: Wed, Feb 20th LAGOS VICTORIA ISLAND & LEKKI
10 AM Tour VICTORIA ISLAND & LEKKI PENINSULAR plus Nikki Art Gallery. After lunch Drive to Fela Kuti’s Kalakuta Museum in Ikeja. Optional evening at The Kalakuta Shrine. (B)

Day 15: Thurs, Feb 22nd. LAGOS MAINLAND & IKEJA
Lagos Mainland tour included the Museum, Oba of Lagos Palace, Market, Akerele, and Balogun Markets where you can buy fabric or ready-made attires. Continue to Ikeja, the Lagos State Capital tour of the area. Farewell Dinner @ Bogobiri Orishirishi restaurant, enjoy the Yoruba Art ambiance (B/D)

Day 16: Fri, Feb 23rd LAGOS/NEW YORK
Day at leisure. Last minute shopping. 10:30p departure for New York via Atlanta

Day 17: Sat, Feb 24th New York
9:50am: Arrival
